Safety

The most important piece of safety information to understand is that a high clearance four-wheel drive (4WD) is required for accessing most areas. Conventional vehicles can access the Wreck Rock camping area from the south. Always check park alerts before leaving home.

Beaches are not patrolled, and care should be taken in and around the water. Sharks, marine stingers (October – May) and strong currents are just some of the dangers to bear in mind.
