Baffle Creek Accommodation

Looking for Baffle Creek accommodation that is actually on the water? Broadwater Haven sits just north of Baffle Creek on the Broadwater, the estuary where the Deepwater, Mitchell, Blackwater and Cow Creeks all meet. We have ten self-contained cabins on private land, eight of them right on the waterfront.

We are roughly halfway between Bundaberg and Gladstone. Baffle Creek itself is about fifteen minutes away, with a fuel station and general store, a pub, a bottle shop, takeaway, a real estate agent and a rural supply store.

Waterfront Cabins, Not a Caravan Park Row

There are ten cabins here and no crowds.

Cabins 1 to 8 are the waterfront ones, two bedroom with a queen in one room and two singles in the other, plus a fold out sofa bed in the living room. Cabins 9 and 10 sit on the second row and are one bedroom, with larger open living areas and bigger verandas. Couples and single guests often prefer those two because they are more private than the front row.

Every cabin is fully self contained with a fridge and freezer, microwave, TV and DVD, kitchen appliances, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. All linen is provided including bath towels. Towels are changed every four days and sheets weekly.

Cabin 9 is fitted with a ramp for wheelchair access and has large open bathroom facilities with assist rails.

All cabins are non smoking.

Because the property is private land, the only people using the facilities and the water are the ones staying here. No day visitors, no queue for the ramp, no music from three sites over.

There is a shared laundry, and a camp kitchen with BBQs and a crab cooker for when the day has gone well. Bait is available onsite at the office.

What You Can Do From Your Cabin Door

The short answer is fish, and most of our guests do. The Broadwater holds over forty species. Fishing and crabbing start just outside the cabin, so you do not need a boat to have a good trip.

If you have brought one, boat access and retrieval from the property works from about half tide upwards depending on the tide heights on the day. Smaller boats suit the estuary best because of the low water sandbars and flats. Beyond the fishing there is beach walking, kayaking on protected water, soldier crabs on the flats at low tide, and more birdlife than you will be able to name. Have a look at the things to do while you are here.

An Eco Certified Property

We are an eco certified resort and we take it seriously rather than putting it on a sign. The property runs on solar power, and we use rainwater for drinking, showering and the kitchen.

That is part of why it stays as quiet and unspoilt as it does. It is also why we ask guests to tread lightly while they are here.

Bringing the Dog

We are pet friendly, which is not easy to find in Baffle Creek accommodation. There is an extra fee and a few conditions, the main one being that pets stay outside the cabin and are well behaved. Full detail is on our pet friendly accommodation page.

Getting Here

We are at 754 Fingerfield Road, Deepwater QLD 4674.

From the south you turn off the Bruce Highway at Rosedale and head east towards the coast. From the north you come down through Miriam Vale and Agnes Water. The road in is sealed, so you do not need a four wheel drive to reach us.

Two things worth knowing before you leave the highway. Fuel up, and download your maps, because mobile reception gets patchy on the last stretch.

How many cabins are there?

Ten self-contained cabins. Cabins 1 to 8 are waterfront two bedroom cabins sleeping up to six. Cabins 9 and 10 are one bedroom, on the second row, with larger living areas.

Is linen included?

Yes. All linen is included in the price.

Can I launch a boat from the property?

Yes, from about half tide upwards depending on the tide heights on the day. Smaller boats are better suited to the estuary because of the sandbars and flats at low water.
